Review Of The Sony Ericsson W595

In 2008, to celebrate three years from the release of their first Walkman phone, the guys from Sony Ericsson launched three anniversary models, among which, the W595. This model was a strange looking phone that was great for the time when it was released.

The basic color for this phone was a really nice looking shade of blue, but it also came in black and grey. When it comes to the general design of this device, the curved top and the curved away bottom of the phone have to be mentioned, as these are the key features of the design. A shiny trim is situated along the edged and the curves of the phone, which makes its way around the entire casing, making the phone a bit more stylish.  The finishing touch of the phone is made out of a rubber like material, which offers a better grip, making the phone more secure in the user’s hand. The slide works smoothly, the phone remaining perfectly balanced, even if it’s in open position. Most people who own this phone say they are satisfied with the general design, but they think that the guys from Sony Ericsson could have trimmed a bit of the top, as the phone seems a bit too long.

The phone comes with a 2.2 inch screen, which is large enough for the main functions of the phone, like navigating, taking pictures, or video viewing. It comes with a 3 megapixel camera that takes decent pictures, which can be stored on the 8 gigabyte memory, provided by a memory card. Because it’s a music player, the phone comes with a stereo loudspeaker, a very uncommon thing for mobile phones.  Also because it’s a music player, the battery life of the device must not be neglected. It offers 26 hours of music listening time and up to 9 hours of talk time in 2G mode.

The phone is still available today, probably because it was a great model that quickly became popular among Sony Ericsson fans.  Because it incorporates features like an accelerometer, this particular phone can be expected to be around for a while longer, as it’s clear that when it was released, it was way ahead of its time.
