BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900

Another great BlackBerry phone that’s really worth mentioning is the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900, also known as BlackBerry Dakota or BlackBerry Magnum. This model hasn’t been released yet, but the fuss created around it is so big that I decided to write an article on the device.

Unlike older BlackBerry phones, this one has a capacitive 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen besides the full QWERTY keyboard everyone is accustomed to. It also has some modern smartphone features like an accelerometer and a proximity sensor, components which weren’t integrated into BlackBerry devices not long ago. Liquid Graphics is a new concept created by the manufacturer that is supposed to guarantee a crystal clear image on the display, a thing that many people are waiting for.

When it comes to the design of the phone, we can conclude that it is very elegant especially thanks to that brushed stainless steel frame and those sculptured surfaces. This lightweight model is considered to be the thinnest BlackBerry phone ever made up to this point. Now don’t be fooled by the elegant design, as this phone is not as fragile as it looks. All the build materials are of the highest quality, durability being the main feature of the whole design.

Performance-wise, it’s among the first phones to run the new BlackBerry OS 7 operating system, which is backed up by a 1.2 GHz processor, almost 1 gigabytes of RAM and a surprising 8 gigabytes of internal storage memory. If you observe the specs closely, it’s even more surprising that you can upgrade the storage memory with the use of a 32 gigabyte memory card.

If we take a look at the ways to capture your memories using this device, we must notice the HD video capturing functions and the 5 megapixel camera that will take excellent still images with the use of all the integrated features like the geo-tagging and the image stabilization.

Even today there are a lot of apps for BlackBerry phones, but starting with this model of the operating system, the possibilities will increase even further, a large specter of applications being available starting with this model.

BlackBerry Bold 9650

Published by , on August 5th, 2011, in the categories: Blackberry

BlackBerry cell phones are very popular among businessmen and among people who like to have a smart phone that can help them manage their assignments better. Today we’ll take a look at a BlackBerry model released in 2010 which is still available today thanks to its great performance combined with a great design.

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 is a classic shaped BlackBerry device that can be used on both GSM and CDMA networks. I feel this is a thing that needs to be mentioned when it comes to more recent releases, as many mobile phones are designed to work on only one of the two network types. Because these phones are very appealing to people who travel all over the world, this feature is very important, otherwise, in countries where CDMA networks are unsupported the phone wouldn’t work.

The phone’s 2.4 inch display doesn’t have touchscreen capabilities, but thanks to the touch sensitive optical track pad navigation on this phone is made easily. Also, the omnipresent QWERTY keyboard is made in such a way that makes typing easy and fast, the shape of the buttons being a big plus. The phone doesn’t have but 512 megabytes of internal memory, which can be increased with the use of a memory card to allow for the storage of a larger number of files.

For audio files listening purposes, the phone is fitted with a 3.5 mm jack, so the user will be able to use any regular headphones with this type of jack. The alternative is the use of Bluetooth wireless headphones which can be connected easily thanks to the advanced Bluetooth device’s version and thanks to the A2DP technology the component incorporates.

The camera on this phone has 3.5 megapixels, which is not very much, but features like the LED flash, the autofocus or the image stabilizer allow the user to get the best out of this capture device.  The BlackBerry OS combined with the GPS integrated into the device will make sure that you can execute and install any sorts of applications that might come in handy at a certain point.

Last, but not least, the battery must be mentioned as it allows for 5 hours of talk time and 18 hours of music listening time, which is not very much, but it’s enough.

Cricket Cell Phone Plans

Published by , on August 4th, 2011, in the categories: Cell phone plans

Because I want to remain in the area of mobile phone operators, we’ll talk some more about not so popular companies that might be considered very interesting by some people. This is exactly why the next company I’ll be referring to is Cricket. They focus their offers mostly toward smartphone owners so if you find yourself in this category make sure to check out their website.

To begin with, they offer 5 monthly plans, each specially designed for a certain type of user. First and most inexpensive plan is the Basic plan, which will set you back 45$ per month, for which you’ll get unlimited talk, unlimited text, unlimited voicemail and unlimited long distance calls. If I caught your attention then be prepared, because there’s much more than meets the eye with these guys.

For 45$ paid each month you can get unlimited talk, unlimited long distance, unlimited text, unlimited voicemail and unlimited caller ID. Besides this, you also get unlimited picture messaging, unlimited video messaging, unlimited call waiting, unlimited 3-way calling which you can use to make conference calls, and mobile web for browsing the web wherever you are, with the use of your mobile phone. You also get call forwarding, a data backup option which you can use to backup the data from your phone, and international text messaging. Another interesting feature you get from this Best Seller plan is the navigation feature, using the company’s own navigation software.

Now comes the interesting part. The last three plans are specially designed for people who own certain phones. They all cost 55$ per month and they’re designed for BlackBerry users, Android users and for people who own Muve Music phones. This means that if you own an Android phone, or you purchase one from Cricket, you can choose this plan which is specially built for your phone. Besides the options and features mentioned above for the Best Seller plan, you will get a couple of things that are specially designed for your phone. For instance, for the Android plan you will get mobile email and free access to Google Mobile Services. BlackBerry owners will get access to BlackBerry push email and BlackBerry messenger.

This being said, all you need to do now is to check out the website and their mobile phone offers. For these prices they can be considered real competition for other operators that might have a longer history on the mobile phone market.

The moment you access their website you can see a lot of great offers that are offered by Fido to its current and future customers. They give you the chance to trade in your old phone for a new one, they want to save the environment and they ask customers to decide where exactly will the money end up, and finally, they offer a lot of great deals on contract and contract-free plans.

Unlike other companies, Fido doesn’t have the standard individual and family plans, but they have a number of 5 different plans that can be customized to the customer’s liking. The cheapest plan costs the user 15$ per month, price for which you get 50 anytime minutes for outgoing calls, unlimited calls in the Circle Calling program, which I will later mention, and 5 outgoing text messages. If you want something with a bit more minutes, you can take a look at the 25$ per month plan which will give you 100 anytime minutes, unlimited calls in the evenings and weekends, unlimited incoming and outgoing text messages, and unlimited Circle Calling. The most expensive, 35$ plan, will get you 350 anytime minutes and unlimited numbers when it comes to every other service they have, which actually is a very good price if you come to think about it.

For all these plans, the system access fee is 0$ so you don’t have to worry about paying when you enter the system.  Now, the Circle Calling actually means that you can make free local calls between people who own the same account. This is like an incorporation of the standard family plans into the regular plans offered by Fido.

If you want a prepaid plan, then you’ve come to the right place, as Fido offers all sorts of plans, including daily and monthly prepaid plans. The monthly plan will set you back about 10$ and the daily plan 1$. If you want something even more flexible, you can pay by the minute. This way you will pay about 30 cents for each minute of conversation but you won’t have to pay any extra fees.

IPhone 4 Case From Chanel

Published by , on August 3rd, 2011, in the categories: cell phone accessories

By now, everyone has probably realized that a lot of cases have been designed for the iPhone 4, a lot of them being made by companies who only deal with this sort of things and who are considered to be professionals when it comes to the protection of a phone. Besides these companies, a lot of fashion companies have developed all sorts of classy cases that represent their company and their fashion visions. Among these, the famous designer Chanel, who case will make the topic for this article.

Like many other designer accessories, the case made by channel is nothing but ordinary when it comes to the design. This high-class casing was built not only to offer extra protection for the devices, but also to make your phone a head turner when in public places. The casing is built from a highly durable plastic that maintains the slick look of every Chanel product. Besides protecting the phone from accidental drops, the case will also resolve the famous reception issues of the iPhone 4 by isolating the human hand from the phone’s antenna. The build material is also designed in a way to prevent the visibility of fingerprints on the phone and to prevent dust accumulation in the interior of the phone, a very important factor if you come to think that many wear and tear defects emerge as a result of dust accumulation in the phone’s interior.

There are a lot of variations for this special casing, the only common point being the Chanel logo that can be found on the back of each case. This logo also takes a lot of forms, on some models a single large logo being found, while on others multiple small logos fill the empty spaces. The low-end models cost about 18$ and except for the logo, there’s nothing really special about them. On the other hand, if you take a look at the high-end model, you can find all sorts of gold and silver incrustations that’ll make your phone stand out. The most expensive model costs over 150$ and it’s called the Cristal Rhinestone model. This one has a lot of Swarovski crystals imbedded in its design, making this case one of the most “bling” cases around.
