Samsung Eternity is a great looking touchscreen phone, with all sorts of great features. The phone, released in 2009 was among the first touchscreen phones that didn’t cost a fortune. Initially built for AT&T, later it was seen at other carriers such as T-Mobile but with a slightly different look. The Eternity doesn’t have a fancy operating system so the applications are limited to java apps, but it’s more than enough for someone who doesn’t want to spend a fortune on a mobile phone. If a person is happy with the phone’s features, it doesn’t mean that they’ll be happy with the way the phone looks. That is the reason why in this article we’ll take a look at ways to change the aspect of this phone using a cover. If we take a quick look online, we can find a whole bunch of camouflage covers that can be installed on the Samsung Eternity. Most of them are found on websites that finally lead to Amazon.com, the well known online store. These camouflage covers cost about 9$ without the shipping costs which are about an extra 6$. If we take a look at the technical details of these covers, we realize that they are actually custom built stickers that can be applied on the front and on the back of the phone. The cover is made in a way that gives you access to all the phone’s  hardware buttons, like the camera button.  These covers come in more than one color. You can choose between pink camo, mossy oak and regular jungle camouflage.  Camouflage covers, apart from the fact they give the phone a great look, thanks to the irregular design, they mask potential scratches. Of course the cover also protects the phone in some way, but if it does get scratched, the scratches won’t be so visible.

Because they are fairly cheap and easy to install, you can apply the cover yourself if you have a steady hand, not being necessary to consult a specialist.

The Samsung Eternity, also called Samsung A867, was released in January 2009, three months after it was announced. The phone is considered by some to be lighter than the iPhone, so from this point of view, the phone is slim and light. The main component is a 3.2 inch TFT resistive touchscreen that responds fairly well to the user’s input. When it comes to performance, the phone is not considered out of the ordinary, but because it’s not actually a smartphone, it doesn’t need much. It does have 200 megabytes of internal memory which can be upgraded using an SD memory card. If speaking of connectivity, the phone has EDGE, GPRS and Bluetooth, but it lacks the all important WI-FI component which would make it a much better phone.

The Eternity has one camera that can also act as a video camera. You can use it to take 3 megapixel pictures at a resolution of 2000×1500. You can also use the camera to make video calls if your carrier gives you the necessary data plans. Applications installed are pretty cool, among them being the AT&T Mobile Navigator, AT&T Tv and an MP4 player. Battery life is decent as it allows you to talk for up to 5 hours and in stand-by the phone stays on for about 250 hours.

Users are mostly content with the phone, a few of them being unhappy with the fact that the installation of new applications can be done mostly by directly downloading the apps from the internet to the mobile phone. Other people don’t like the phone because of the lack of WI-FI and another disappointment is the fact that the camera doesn’t have a flash or a focus function.  As a bottom line I would state that the phone is good if you know you can take care of it and not drop it too often, otherwise the phone is sensitive as it easily gets scratched and the back cover comes off without difficulty when dropped. Also, don't expect much from the phone apart from the stylish looks. Make sure you study the phone before buying it to make sure you won't be later disappointed.

Texting exercises are also an important part of the lesson as in many cases they contain all sorts of encoded messages that are sometimes hard to understand. For instance, the word “great” is written “GR8”, the expression “keep in touch” is “KIT” and “bye bye for now” is “BBFN”. “C U l8r” actually means “See you later”, but if you don’t know these codes, some messages, especially those received from teenagers could be unreadable.
