Complaints and issues on the Sony Ericsson Satio
Sony Ericsson Satio is a decent phone with a touchscreen display, a 12 MP camera, loads of memory, Wi-Fi support and everything a high-end phone is supposed to be able to handle. In theory all sounds nice, but in the real life the Satio model has a lot of reported issues from the people who thought they were buying a great phone and ended up with a piece of plastic in some cases.
The first and the most important fact everyone is complaining about is that the phone is extremely slow and unresponsive to simple commands. Even though the phone has a pretty good performance chart, the fact is that all the software installed on it runs poorly, this in term affecting the performance of the camera, because pictures are taken slowly and the user needs to hold the camera in place for longer periods of time. Otherwise the camera is decent, but this little issue makes it unbearable to some people.

Another general complaint is about the alerts. Many of the phones have stopped ringing when an incoming call is received or the ringtone’s volume is very low even though it’s set on the highest level. Also, many people are complaining about frequent freeze-ups. The phone seems to shut down randomly and in some reported cases mostly after a call has been made, when using the Bluetooth or the Wi-Fi. A big complaint is made concerning the life of the battery, as it last only a couple of hours when talking on the phone. A few other minor issues report bad video playback, overheating and spots on the screen.

Normally, most of these issues can be resolved with a simple software update, but unfortunately the first couple of updates didn’t make things much better. The people are complaining a lot because the manufacturers these days tend to rush with the announcing of new products and when they hit the shelves they turn out to be a big disappointment. Afterwards, the manufacturer uses people who bought the phone to debug the software. It’s good that the user’s feedback counts for something but the phones shouldn’t have that many issues when launched. A few minor bugs are accepted, but considering that a phone has just a few basic things that should run properly, a bit more attention to detail would be highly appreciated.
