Cell Phone Data Transfer
Transferring data from the previous cell phone. Here is a simple guide on how to transfer various things from one cell phone to another. There are several ways to transfer contacts and other useful information when you change your phone.
The best method depends on: * Phone models * Type of information transferred * Backup systems (storing backups) that you use * If you change or not the operator or service provider. The most common methods of transfer are: * Transferring phone numbers via SIM card * The transfer of data through multimedia card (MMC) * Data transfer via Bluetooth * Data transfer via PC

Transfer via PC is the most efficient method, but initial setup requires more effort. You should download the installation package for the PC Suite on a compatible computer and check the compatibility of various elements: the mobile versions of PC Suite, Windows and connection types for the terminal support.
Transfer from MMC is easier – if both phone models support the card sizes used. Transfer from the SIM card is a simple method for transferring phone numbers (only). Transferring phone numbers via SIM card – If you only transfer phone numbers via SIM card transfer is the first option. The steps are: copy the numbers on the SIM card, remove card from old phone, insert it into the phone again and save the numbers in its memory. For phones that do not have extra memory, your numbers are already stored on the SIM card.
Back to top – What is a SIM? Its a very small card with a corner “cut”, which is inserted into the phone to connect to the network. Your SIM card is provided by the operator or service provider and contains your user account information and network that you are connected, having, in addition, a certain capacity (limited) memory.
Commands for copying phone numbers on / from the SIM card vary from phone model to another. For information on your phone, see the guidelines for use of these products. (Instructions for copying data to the card guide you’ll find in old phone and on the back of the card for the new phone’s user guide).

For many Nokia models, the procedure is the following: Contacts 1.Select the option (Contacts) on your old phone
2.Select Options (Options) -> Select All (Mark all) 3.Select Options (Options) -> Copy to SIM (Copy to SIM direct) 4.Select the contacts you want to copy ( “All”, for example). After copying the contacts, remove the SIM card from old phone, insert it into the new one and copy the contacts in its memory: 5.Select contacts (Contacts) 6.Select Options (Options) -> SIM Manager (SIM directory) 7.Select Options (Options) -> Select All (Mark All) 8.Select Options (Options) -> Copy to Contacts (Copy to Contacts)

You can also use third party software for data transfer. One popular product is the DataPilot, but you want to check their phone support to see if they support your phone fully.
