Adobe Flash On Android Phones

Many people don’t know the importance of the Flash component and that’s why at the beginning of this article we are going to take a look at a few basic things regarding it. First of all, Adobe Flash is used both in computers and smartphones to enable Flash content on websites and within applications. Some people might not know this, but the Flash content is far more widely spread than they would think.

One of the best examples for the use of a Flash player is the world renowned website called Youtube.com. Here, all the video content is in a flash format and without a proper Flash Player installed, you will not be able to view the content. Many complain that the Youtube videos will not stream on their mobile devices, but before doing anything else, the presence of a Flash player must be checked.

Now, to get to our topic of the day, Adobe Flash can be easily downloaded to any smartphone running an Android operating system from the Android Market. There is however something you might need to take into consideration before downloading the Player. Not every Flash Player functions properly on any mobile phone. For instance, one of the latter versions, Flash Player 10.1, needs a newer operating system version. If your phone doesn’t have at least Android 2.2 Froyo, then don’t bother downloading this version and search for something a bit older. Most phones give you the opportunity to upgrade the operating system so in some cases this might be worth doing as the Flash player has more functions than the ones mentioned earlier. Besides making the video content stream smoother, it also plays part in the protection of your data. There are many viruses that access your computing device using video streaming, and the 10.1 version of Flash has an upgraded protection system.

Also, besides a certain version of Android, some Flash Players require also a certain processor with a certain GPU. The 10.1 version, for instance, needs an ARM Cortex A8 processor at least to run properly. Nexus owners can usually get a hold of the latest versions quicker than other users and they are given the possibility to offer feedback on the product. Usually, if you buy a later model smartphone it will have a Flash player installed by default, but if the system requirements permit it, it’s always good to upgrade to the latest version to make sure you get the most from your mobile phone.
